Role Purpose: To be responsible for accurate and complete accounting of all elements within gross profit, preparing management accounts and implementing efficient processes and systems.
Main Duties & Accountabilities:
  • Commissions
  • Update and sign off on master data on monthly basis
  • Calculate sales commission accruals, deferrals and payments
  • Fixed assets
  • Manage and update the fixed and tax asset registers on monthly basis
  • Pass required journals and reconcile accounts for additions, disposals, depreciation and impairment of assets as well as deferred tax
  • Update and perform capex rolling forecast for cash flow on monthly basis
  • Forex
  • Ensure FECs are in place to mitigate forex exposure aligning to group policy
  • Review open FECs and record appropriate accounting entries each month and year end
  • Month-end
  • Calculate and reconcile revenue, cost of sales and any other direct cost, including accruals, prepayments and deferrals
  • Perform margin analysis and investigate material differences
  • Intercompany reconciliations
  • Prepare and sign off balance sheet recons for applicable accounts
  • Prepare the management accounts with supporting schedules and commentary
  • Act as business partner for commercial and operational teams
  • Assist in implementation of best practice systems and processes
  • Support on analysis required for M&A activities/FP&A
  • Ad hoc analysis, tasks and project support

Required skills, experience & knowledge:
  • Qualified CIMA with minimum 5 years working experience
  • Commercial awareness
  • Team management and staff development
  • Basic knowledge of statutory standards including IFRS/FRS 102, Companies Act, Tax and VAT legislation etc.
  • Proficient in all MS Office packages, including advanced Excel (pivots, tables, big data etc.)
  • Experience with VBA and macros would be advantageous
  • Experience with any renowned accounting software package – experience with Sage would be advantageous
  • Well organised and structured
  • Methodological and logical approach
  • Experience in the telecoms industry would be beneficial
