Schedule and Process

- Budget Prep Build date = May 6, 2012 – Changes in SAP related to position or employee after May 6 require same changes to be made in Budget Prep
- Reports Available
- Extracts – units can generate out of the Budget Prep system
- Master Lists – only upon request
- Dollar Summaries – only upon request
- BUDLONGs and state-aided OPS – ready to be handed out
Human Resources Updates: Paul Knutson
- 2012-2013 Salary Structures available on NU Values website
- Position in range spreadsheets have been distributed
- All M/P and O/S new hires with start dates on or after June 1, 2012 are to be hired under new pay structures and are not eligible for an increase
- No employees should be below zone minimum, recommend no employees below benchmark minimum
- Employees at or above range maximum may be awarded one-time stipends in lieu of base salary increase
- Increase Exception Forms must be submitted to Alice Weyant – Human Resources no later than June 22, 2012 for the following:
- Increases ≥ 10%
- 0% increases due to performance
- Increases above range maximum, including one-time payments
- Increases to less than minimum of benchmark range
- All increase exception forms with “Performance” as the reason must include copy of employee’s current performance evaluation
- Current salary increase approval system (monthly Chancellor approval and President notification) will remain in effect for cumulative salary increases 10% and over
What’s New for 2012/Reminders: Susan Kraft Mann
- Org Unit in Budget Prep as a variable on Variable Entry screen and as a sortable column in returned data set.
- All salary entry is to be completed at the same time, rather than different dates for different categories of employees (biweekly, monthly, academic year).
- Users have almost 5 weeks for data entry this year.
- All Supervisors must certify completion of Employee Performance Evaluations in writing, to one level up, all the way up to the President
- All 0% and ≥ 10% increases, including one-time payments, will require an Increase Exception Form signed by your Chancellor’s Council member
- Salary Notification Advices will be available in ESS for all budgeted employees.
