Position Description

Position Title: / Project Worker – Early Years
Award: / Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010
Classification: / CDW Level 6
Hours Per week: / Full time 38 hours per week
Responsible to: / General Manager, Early Years
Any special conditions: / 6 Month Contract
Key Summary of Functions:
To provide leadership across the agency through the management of a number of key projects that will position UCG to be an innovative, excellent, consumer driven provider of children’s services.

Key Duties:

·  Coordinate, manage and support organisational projects to improve the delivery of children services

·  Effectively manage a number of projects and ensure projects are delivered within timeframes

·  Benchmark with external organisations to inform best practice within any project area

·  Work with Executive team to develop and implement change processes to achieve goals of any given project

·  To work across programs to ensure that all change processes are inclusive, well designed and clearly communicated across the agency

·  Develop and allocate review systems for all change management processes undertaken for the duration of the role

·  Provide day to day support for General Manager by reporting on progress and carry out actions with autonomy and leadership

·  Identify additional resources required to effectively meet project and/or program requirements

·  Through all projects uphold consumer rights, privacy, confidentiality and informed consent.

·  As a member of staff - identify, monitor, resolve and review all identified OH&S and risk management issues.

·  Respect the diverse needs of all community groups and individuals to ensure that their needs are met in an inclusive and sensitive manner.

·  Other duties as directed.

Key Selection Criteria

Mandatory:

1.  Satisfactory National police check and Victorian Working with Children Check.

2.  Post-secondary qualifications in a relevant qualification that may include Business, Communications, Community services, Community Development and/or demonstrated project management expertise

3.  Demonstrated ability to use computers efficiently including Word and Outlook.

4.  Demonstrated ability to work within the vision, mission, policies and principles of the organisation.

Position:

1.  Demonstrated experience in the development of systems that lead to effective practice.

2.  Demonstrated experience in change management

3.  Experience in working in a role that required autonomous working toward goals

4.  Demonstrated project management skills and ability to prioritise work.

5.  Demonstrated experience in working with a diverse range of key stakeholders.

Desirable:

1.  Strong diplomatic, negotiation and influencing skills.

2.  Creative and innovative approach to problem solving.

3.  Current Victorian Driver’s License.

4.  Knowledge of the early years sector.
