She commended the Board in working with Congresswoman Sutton and NOACA in seeking additional funding and it is important that LCT stay running even at a reduced level and brokerage is a vital service as well. The clients are the most affected by these cutbacks to attend appointments that are necessary to receive assistance and LCDJFS is mandated by the State to provide transportation support to food stamp and owf recipients who are required to complete work or education/training activities up to 35 hours/week. In 2009 alone LCDJFS provided over 18,000 bus tickets to clients and any fixed route changes must include keeping service open to LCCC (cc: LCT/LCDJFS)
