Currently:
Trustee for 3 years – involved in governance and strategic planning decisions; Rebranding and future plans.
Member of:
Grants committee – helping a wide variety of talented young people young people further their careers.
Committee Recruitment and Succession working group –vitally Important report to support Societies.
Golden Jubilee Working Group – planning events for 2018, particularly ArtsFest.
Previously:
Member of the SST – working with and mentoring Societies
Charity consultant – planning and executing fundraising appeals, PR & marketing; working with and motivating volunteers; working on the conservation programme of 17th century Silk Merchant’s house
Wide variety of roles within NADFAS over 32 years.
Q2:Motivation: describe why you want to serve as a nadfas trustee.(max 100 words)
To:
Continue the work of the past 3 years as a Trustee building on experience gained
Raise the profile of NADFAS/The Arts Society in the Arts World
Listen and work closely with Societies and respect and understand their problems
Encourage younger people to join and benefit from the organisation
Ensure NADFAS keeps up with technical advances
Look after older members and their needs so they can continue to enjoy their Societies.
As a member of NADFAS for over 30 years, I am totally committed to its aims and objectives and want to continue taking it forward for greater recognition world-wide.
Q3:vision: what do you think are the main challenges and opportunities facing nadfas over the next 5 years? (max 100 words)
The past 50 years have seen many changes in NADFAS. Rebranding as The Arts Society will give us a new global identity, include all the Arts and make us more easily recognisable as to what we do and who we are
To:
-increase membership and new Societies, provide more people with the opportunity to enjoy everything NADFAS/The Arts Society has to offer
-look at different types of membership to suit all ages now and in the future
-expand the Society Support Team to mentor Societies
-provide a higher profile for all Heritage Volunteers and Young Arts
