MEMORANDUM
Date:December, 2015
To:All Ordained and Commissioned Ministers Currently on Candidate or Non-Candidate Status
From:Rev. Gregory S. Walton, President
Re:Annual Reporting Requirement
______
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom we love and serve!
This memorandum is being sent to you because you currently hold membership on the roster of Ordained or Commissioned Ministers of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod as an Inactive Member. Inactive Members are those who are on Candidate Status, Non-Candidate Status, or Emeritus Status. Bylaw 2.11, Continued Eligibility of Individual Members, explains inactive membership in more detail. A copy of that bylaw is online along with an electronic copy of the reporting form. Instructions to find it on our website are in the next paragraph.
One of the requirements placed upon all Inactive Members is that they must file an annual report form with their District President. We have enclosed a simple reporting form which has been created to facilitate the filing of your annual report. If you prefer to complete the form electronically, you may download a generic version of the form by accessing it on our website at Look on the front page under “Latest Updates.” Click on the post, “It’s Annual Report Time!”
Please be careful to download the form that relates to your current status (Candidate Status, Non-Candidate, or Emeritus Status). To download the form, click on the appropriate form and choose “Save Target To….” Once you complete the form, you will need to print a copyBEFORE you close the file, sign and date it, and mail it to the address printed below.
On the enclosed form, you will note that some information is already included in Section One. Please review this information for its correctness and provide any information which is missing. Once you have done so, please complete Section Two.
The purpose of Section Two is to receive a report from you regarding the level of your involvement, as you are able, in the Synod or limitations in light of your own personal situation and circumstances. Thank you for your contribution to the work of the Synod.
Next, please sign and date the form. Finally, please return the form to me in the enclosed envelope.
Please note that the enclosed reporting form must be returned to my office no later than January 31, 2016.
May the Lord be with you and bless you abundantly during the coming year!
