Red Hot Advocacy Alert!
Reliable sources have reported that the Senate is poised to pass the American Health Care Act (AHCA). They are planning to work the AHCA and pass a bill by June 30th.
The votes in the Senate are too close to call. It could happen.
A Senate bill have been drafted (in secret) and is now being score by the CBO (in secret).
We have been told the Senate will likely begin by working the bill passed by the House on the floor and entertaining amendments to that bill. After that process stalls out, the (secret) senate bill will be substituted as more “reasonable” and a “compromise”.
The Senate bill will include deep cuts to Medicaid, ACA and expansion. Even if slightly less draconian that the House passed AHCA, the Senate bill will still be ruinous to people with disabilities and older Americans.
There is no time to waste. Our sources have clearly told us that we have until the end of next week (June23rd) to contact Senators and tell them they will be held accountable and must not support gutting Medicaid to give giant tax breaks for the richest 1,500 families in the US (This really is the goal; to transfer billions of dollars from Medicaid for poor people to the rich).
Advocates should contact Senator Jerry Moran and hold him to his recent public statements that he doesn’t support cutting Medicaid, will protect coverage of pre-existing conditions and will lower costs and make coverage more affordable. The AHCA bills do none of these things!
Please Act Now!
Contact Senator Jerry Moran, Phone: D.C. office, 202-224-6521 & Olathe office, 913-393-0711; Email: (via Moran’s website only),

An easy way to do very effective advocacy is to take a selfie holding a sign that says – “Don’t cut Medicaid/Protect ACA coverage” or if you are on Medicaid or are paid through Medicaid, hold a sign that says “I am Medicaid”.Send the pictures to us at: and we will get them sent along for you.
