The Three Defining Characteristics for SBC Men S Ministry Are

SBC’s Men’s Ministry objective is to create opportunities for men to build Christ-centered relationships. It is about people. It is about helping men build loving (yep, we said it, macho man), encouraging relationships with those within the body of believers, as well as outside the body.

The three defining characteristics for SBC Men’s Ministry are:

INTegrity:

  • Biblical men are men of integrity. Integrity comes from the Hebrew word for “whole,” “sound,” “unimpaired.” It means to possess a genuine heart. No hidden messages. No hidden agendas. Men of integrity are true to their word. Integrity will show itself in men in this way:
  • Their walk matches their talk. We need to develop consistency between what we profess on Sunday and how we act at work, home, and in our neighborhoods Monday through Saturday.

INTimacy:

  • Intimacy is allowing others into our heart. A biblical man experiences intimacy:
  • With God through an authentic, growing, vital, living relationship with Christ.
  • With his wife that is both deep and wide and includes going out together, having people over, holding hands, praying & worshipping together.
  • With other men by helping men to connect with other men. Christianity isn’t a solo sport. In the same way it would be suicide to climb Mt. Everest by yourself, so it is spiritual suicide to try to make it on your own spiritually.

INTentionality:

  • We intentionally will connect God’s Word to our lives in these ways:
  • Through studying and apply God’s Word, being an encouragement to others, and allowing room for collective and individual accountability – men who know what they believe and act on it.
