COROMANDEL CLASSIC 2013 TIMING

The SportIdent electronic timing system will be used.

Friday Night Registration:

Pick up your e-card from the timing official at registration. Your e-card must be cleared and checked at registration; you will be shown by the event officials how to do this.

Sunday Morning before Kayak:

Your e-card must be cleared and checked before proceeding to your kayak. The clear and check boxes will be in the start area. This is our record of you starting Day 2.

On the Course:

There will be a timing box at every transition and also at the Summit on Day 1. It is the competitor’s responsibility to punch at all timing boxes – hold the card in the box until the unit flashes and beeps.

If a timing box should fail during the event (that is, neither flash nor beep), register with the official at that transition and have them record your number.

Some of the boxes may have an inaudible beep but they still flash – if they flash then they have registered your card. The beep is not necessary. However, it is your responsibility to ensure that the timing box flashes (and maybe beeps) and register with an official if it does not.

Teams:

When approaching the end of your section first punch at the timing box, thenyou MUST transfer the e-card to your next team member.

Finishing:

There is a timing box that needs punching at the finish banner. The timing of your course ends after you punch this timing box. Then proceed to the nearby tent to have your e-card downloaded and receive a print out of your split times. At the end of Day 2, leave your hired e-card at the finish! (There is a $60 charge if you do not return it).

If you are unsure of how to do the above tasks please ask an official before you start.

NOTE: Even if you do not complete your course and decide to withdraw you MUST still punch the FINISH timing box and have your e-card read to record you coming off the course as a matter of safety – failure to do so could result in a search party being mounted.

Your e-card has a number that is related specifically to you as a competitor. The card must not be loaned to anyone else during the event. If you lose a hired e-card there will be a $60 charge to cover the cost of a replacement.
Please ensure you keep the safety strap on your wrist.

Results

Provisional results for Day 1 will be displayed at the dinner venue (after the briefing). Final results will be on display at the Thames Racecourse after the prize giving. Enquiries regarding finish times should be directed to the finish officials.
