The CCA scholarship was established by CCA’s Board of Directors in 2015 to assist individuals who are exploring the study of human resource management and a career in this or a closely related field. The scholarship serves to promote the compensation profession by attracting college level students into the field of study and encouraging their pursuit with financial support. Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis based upon pursuit of a degree major focusing on human resource management, or another field of closely related study. Up to two scholarships may be awarded each year. Please copy these instructions and your completed application for your records.

The Scholarship includes:

·  $1,500 in tuition assistance – scholarship money will be deposited directly to recipient’s finance/bursar’s office at their college/university.

Requirements:

·  Must be enrolled as an undergraduate student at an accredited college, university or junior college in the State of Illinois

·  Must have at least one semester (or its equivalent) of college remaining to qualify

·  Must be enrolled in a degree program focusing on human resource management or related field of study

·  Minimum 3.0 grade point average on 4.0 scale

·  Two letters of recommendation by faculty and/or CCA member in good standing

·  Transcript

·  One page essay submission (500-1,000 words) on an explanation of explaining your goals and desired roles in the HR/compensation profession

·  All requirements must be met, and materials received at CCA’s office by April 30 each year

A Selection Committee will review and rate the applications, and scholarship awards will be based solely on these ratings. The Selection Committee will announce scholarship recipients by May 31 each year.

There is no guarantee that any scholarships will be awarded. In submitting this application, the applicant acknowledges that CCA has the right to verify the information and that the applicant waives any claim that he/she may have against CCA for its decisions.
