THE CREATOR CRIES OUT

Wisdom has built her house; She has hewn out her seven pillars; She has slaughtered her meat; She has mixed her wine; She has also furnished her table. She has sent out her maidens; She cries out from the highest places of the city, “Whoever is simple, let him turn in here.” As for him who lacks understanding, she says to him, “Come, eat of my bread and drink of the wine I have mixed. Forsake foolishness and live, and go in the way of understanding.” (Proverbs 9:1-6, NKJV)
It can easily be argued that the obvious is often overlooked. This axiom has many applications like: parents see the folly of their children’s decisions; professionals see problems, but novices do not.
Even so, the Creator cries out to the naïve and seekers of truth to know Him. The opening lines of Proverbs 9 repeat the overriding premise of the entire book:
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”
Our Creator, Jesus Christ (Jn. 1:1-3; Col. 1; Heb. 1), has given everyone overwhelming evidence to answer one of life’s most important questions: Where did I come from? His evidence is provided in two primary sources: scripture and science.

Most of the guests to whom I gave tours were Christians; however, it became apparent that many of them believed that the Creator had used evolution in His creation work, a process—in any form—that is contrary to God’s Word and character. A question frequently asked by many was, “Why couldn’t God have used evolution?”
It’s an excellent question, but God has given many reasons why He would not, and did not, use any form of evolution. His account of a 24hr-day creation week and the Noahic catastrophe described in Genesis 6–9 gives us a flood of scientific evidence against evolution (pun intended).
A proper exegesis of Exodus 20:11 leaves no other conclusion: the universe and everything in it was made in six literal days. The Noahic flood left obvious signs that Earth underwent geological, geographical, and climatological changes because of Adam’s sin (Genesis 2:17; 3:17).
The wording in the latter reference (Gen. 3:17), “Cursed is the ground for your sake,” refers not only to the Genesis flood and mankind’s toil on Earth, but also to sin’s effects on the entire universe. Novas, earthquakes, destruction, and death were not pronounced as “good” in Genesis 1:31!
I usually began tours by saying that believing that their Creator/Savior used evolution had no bearing on their salvation; however, believing He did caused great damage to His character. (He would contradict Himself: Exodus 20:11 can mean ONLY literal days; evolution incorporates millions and billions of years. In short, God would be a liar. See other examples below.)
Asking why God could not use evolution brings troubling questions: Does this question have so little importance to them? Do they not see the consequences?
A search would confront them with two important litmus questions that challenge evolution: “How can evolution produce any life from non-living chemicals?” And, “From where does compatibleinformation cometo produce vertically higher “kinds” of lifeforms? “Kind” here is defined as a distinctly differing family, like dogs (Canidae) differing from cats (Felidae).
In short, for evolution to occur, a mechanism must convert new information into a compatible addition in the organism’s DNA blueprint (plan).
No scientist in history has come remotely near to answering these questions,but as we often hear, “Wait, there’s more!? Is the information useful? How much time does evolution have in its “creative” process to make anything before time runs out? Hint: Even the simplest cell is very complex and must have every component fully functioning and able to reproduce the first time. Lastly, how can time, chance, non-living chemicals, mutations, and “natural selection” produce anything? Note: In the beginning, there was nothing from which to select!
One of several presentations that I recently gave to an AWANA group had to do with God’s science seen in His designed creative acts, in both life or earth sciences. The kids were given various examples: woven carpets, automobiles, watches, and furniture.
They understood that those items needed a designer. Lumber did not become furniture without careful design and planning; cars were incapable of designing, producing, and assembling themselves; the fashioning of watches—well, you get my point.
This brings me back to Wisdom’s admonition to acquire understanding about when and how God created. The biblical creation denies any possibility of evolution. Romans 5:12 makes it clear that death could not begin until Adam sinned against God. Evolution did not derive Adam from apes (e.g., from goo-to-you-by-way-of-the-zoo); God made the first man from the dust of the ground, not from apes, period.
Evolution destroys the gospel of Jesus Christ. What was the penalty of sin? Death. How was sin paid for? By the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. When God declared in Genesis 2:17, “but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die,” Adam could have replied, “Big deal; things have been dying for millions of years; I’m going to die. So what’s this sin-curse-death thing all about?”

Furthermore, how could millions of years of death, disease, and survival of the fittest be called, “very good” and blessed on the seventh day by God (Genesis 1:31; cf. Figure 1)? Also, when you think about it, how could sin be good if it is the last enemy that God will destroy (1 Corinthians 15:26)?
The answers to these questions are obvious to any Christian who investigates questions as to why God could not use any form of evolution. Science and Scripture disqualify Darwin’s (unscientific) theory.
Evolution is against the law! In truth, evolution is against several scientific laws: 1st and 2nd Laws of Thermodynamics; Law of FirstCause; the Law of biogenesis (life from life), and others. Too, mathematical probability prohibits time limits for evolutionary processes to produce any higher kinds.
Evidence point to another major point: Evolution is a philosophy, not a scientific theory. (Empirical, testable, and falsifiable evidence are needed to qualify a theory as a scientific theory.)
Robert Gange, Ph.D., a research scientist in the field of cryophysics and information systems correctly concluded:
“The likelihood of life having occurred through a chemical accident is, for all intents and purposes, zero.Those who believe [in a chemical accident] do so because they are philosophically committed to the notion that all that exists is matter and its motion. In other words, they do so for reasons of philosophy and not science” (Origins and Destiny, 1986, p. 77; my emphasis).
The wisdom of God will always provide truthful answers to those whoseriously seek to know Him through what, when, and how He used His scientific laws. God is, after all, the greatest Scientist.
Proverbs 8:8-9 says,
“All the words of my mouth are with righteousness; nothing crooked or perverse is in them. They are all plain to him who understands, and right to those who find knowledge.”
I once observed a trail of ants seeking food on school property. Students had tossed uneaten food into a trash can just ten feet from their foraging trail. The food was prepared; it would provide enough for every ant many times over.
It dawned on me that, if I could communicate with them, I could direct them to the grand treasure in the can only yards away from them.
Similarly, “Does not wisdom cry out, And understanding lift up her voice? She takes her stand on the top of the high hill, Beside the way, where the paths meet. She cries out by the gates, at the entry of the city, At the entrance of the doors: “To you, O men, I call, And my voice is to the sons of men. O you simple ones, understand prudence, And you fools, be of an understanding heart. Listen, for I will speak of excellent things, And from the opening of my lips will come right things; For my mouth will speak truth; Wickedness is an abomination to my lips. All the words of my mouth are with righteousness; Nothing crooked or perverse is in them. They are all plain to him who understands, And right to those who find knowledge” (Proverbs 8:1–9, NKJV).
God wants everyone to know Him personally as Creator and Savior. He became the incarnate Son to explain to anyone seeking the food of eternal life and the way of truth: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6 NKJV).
Anyone can know he/she can have eternal life immediately after death (1 John 5:13). Our resurrected Creator made our universe and everything in it in six literal days. Those, including bona-fide, going-to Heaven Christians, believing He took billions of years to make it (and evolve ameba to man) are not listening to what Scripture and science are telling them.
Jesus is Wisdom personified in Proverbs and Creator. He continues to declare scientific and biblical truth to them, if they would only heed His cry. The simple and the saved need to pause at His gates and understand that the Creator cries out.
