New York Printer Buys Second :Dotrix from Agfa Graphics

Noteworthy, printer of custom promotional products, produces innovative flexible packaging—with work-of-art quality—using :Dotrix Modular

Chicago, IL (GRAPH EXPO, Booth #3829) – October 26, 2008– Agfa Graphics announced today that Noteworthy, a 54-year-old family-owned manufacturer of custom printed advertising and promotional products located in Amsterdam, NY, has purchased a second :Dotrix digital printing system. The purchase was finalized at drupa 2008 earlier this year in Germany. Noteworthy, already familiar with the :Dotrix system, was the first printer in the U.S. to use Agfa’s versatile :Dotrix Modular inkjet press for high-quality printing on plastic bags.

The :Dotrix Modular, one of the most productive industrial, full-color inkjet presses available in the professional graphic communications marketplace, is particularly suited to Noteworthy’s diverse product line. The engine prints on a wide variety of substrates, including heat-sensitive, pressure-sensitive and in-mould labels, point-of-purchase displays and packaging applications.

Noteworthy has spent more than a half-century perfecting the art of printing on plastic bags, paper bags, non-woven bags, presentation folders, binders and more. The first specialty printing product was a convenient tissue dispenser for cars called the Travel Tissue Pak. Plastic bags were added in 1965. With the :Dotrix Modular, printing on flexible media is more vibrant, durable, clearer and of higher quality than ever before.

“We bought Agfa’s :Dotrix Modular so that we could provide our clients with even higher levels of quality and service,” said Carol Constantino, president of Noteworthy. “It’s a phenomenal inkjet machine that allows us to provide low minimum orders and faster turnarounds while providing a print quality that is unparalleled. Every plastic bag we print for our clients can be framed as a work of art.”

“More and more, printers are recognizing the benefits and value that Agfa’s industrial inkjet line can provide,” said Kristof Dekeukelaere, :Dotrix sales manager, North America. “We are pleased that Noteworthy has proven to be successful with its original :Dotrix system, so much so that the decision was made to add another for all the work they will be running through it.”
