Data Notebooks
Description: This module discusses the importance of data notebooks as a resource tool in the classroom. The module explains the steps for understanding how to guide students to “own” their data and focuses on data growth and goals.
The goals of data notebooks are:
1. To help students monitor and analyze their academic progress through data notebooks.
2. To help students set educational goals and become more responsible for their own learning.
3. To help teachers understand why data collection is important for the teacher and students.
4. To develop Data Notebooks for students and teach students self-monitoring skills.

Have students help you decide what you will use in your DataNotebooks. Allow students to create their data notebook and personalize it. / Allow students to decorate and personalize their own notebook. / Develop Data notebook for each student in the class.
