WHERE TO GET HELP

The following are the steps students should follow to find help with a math problem.


1. Look for similar example(s) in your textbook (in the beginning of the lesson) that were reviewed in class. The problems in the textbook usually correlate (match up to) one of the examples given in that lesson. Follow the same procedure with the problem you are stuck on.

2. Look for similar examples in your notebook that were reviewed in class. Follow the same procedure with the problem you are stuck on.

3. Go to the video tutorials for that lesson and find the one that shows how to do a problem similar to the one you are stuck on. To access the video tutorials for Big Ideas: 1.Go to https://clever.com/in/leusd, 2.Click on the white box to "Log in with Active Directory​", 3. Enter in your full District email address​ (6-digitstudent ID number followed ) for the username and 8 digit birthday (MMDDYYYY)for the password, and 4. click on the"Big Ideas Learning" icon.

4. If available, access the free online Live Tutor for problems with an orange asterick next to them (available when doing homework online only). Live Tutors are available from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. every Sunday to Thursday.

5. Go to the video tutorials for that concept that are available on www.khanacadamy.org or www.ixl.com and typing the name of the concept or skill into the search bar to search for the appropriate tutorial. Help is also available through Prentice-Hall via video tutorials similar to those on he Big Ideas website. You can access the Prentice-Hall videos for Math 3 and Algebra 1 using the following links:

6. If all else fails, make an appointment to see Mr. Rosen during Break or Lunch.
