The 35th Annual International Banquet & Show
Recipe Submission Form

Greetings,

This is Maan from the Association of International Students, and I am the chair of the Food Committee for the 35th Annual International Banquet and Show. The Annual International Banquet is one of the biggest events on campus that is organized and made successful with the help of all the international students at MSU.

Every year students from different countries make their own signature food for the banquet. The students cook their countries’ dishes and we pay for the ingredients. We need diversity in cuisine, including hot and cold, and meat, vegetarian, main dish, side dish, and salad. (Please note: no desserts.) Each country can submit two or three recipes of different kinds of dishes to have a better chance of getting a recipe accepted, but we can only serve eight dishes total at the Banquet.

The Food Committee will meet after all the recipes have been submitted and will select eight to prepare for the Banquet. We will be looking for a representation of different countries and continents, a variety of kinds of dishes, and also give priority to countries that didn’t get to cook last year. For this year’s International Banquet, you will need to cook enough to serve between 200 and 600 people. If your country only has two or three students, we can find helpers to help you cook on cooking night (Friday, November 15th 2013 from 8.00 p.m. to midnight-extra hours may needed).

You will see the form for recipe submission on the page attached. Please submit the recipe AIS at . Deadline: Saturday, November 2nd 2013 at 12.00 p.m. (noon) via email.

Note: You may submit a hard copy of your recipe at the AIS meeting on October 22nd (5pm in Glass 227).

NO RECIPES will be accepted after stated date and time. The names of people who are going to help must be submitted by Monday, November 4th (remember, if there are only two or three students from your county, we can find helpers to help you cook). In addition, for countries that cook hot dishes or need rice, helpers from that group will have to come on November 16th (Saturday) at 2.00 p.m. to reheat food and to cook the rice.

This is just a list of brief guideline on recipe submission. After the recipes are selected, more detailed instructions will be given. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 417.569.0201 or via email at Thank you for your participation!

Sincerely,
Maan Ayyash
