Thank you for making a world of difference on six continents during the 8th annual Ford Global Week of Caring. Each year, Global Week is an opportunity to show how we Go Further to create a better world, and each year Ford employees like you embrace the company’s vision of a better world with skill, energy and heart. I could not be more proud of our company and its people!
During Ford Global Week of Caring 2013, more than 13,000 employees, retirees and dealers joined the Ford Volunteer Corps and went to work on nearly 300 projects in 30 countries. Ford volunteers renovated schools in Australia, Indonesia and Mexico. They repaired a home for low-income seniors in Venezuela, a community youth center in Germany, and improved care facilities in Spain. Ford volunteers provided shelter for homeless children in China, worked a food bank in Canada and built houses in the U.S. This is just a small sample of the community service work undertaken by Ford volunteers during Global Week of Caring and throughout the year. Each of these projects touch people’s lives, brings real comfort and hope, and makes their towns, villages and cities better places to live.
Ford Motor Company has a storied history of groundbreaking innovations, legendary vehicles and larger than life personalities. Our business today is strong, our products are the best ever and we have worked together to build a solid foundation for growth in the years ahead.
As we celebrate the 150th anniversary of Henry Ford’s birth, it’s important to remember that he believed his mission was to make people’s lives better. I believe we are doing that through programs such as the Ford Volunteer Corps and Ford Global Week of Caring, two of the reasons our future is bright with the promise of a better world.
Thank you,
Bill Ford
