Due Dates

Technology due date for all students: Monday, November 18th

If you are using technology for your presentation, you must bring it to school on a flash drive, and we will test it out. You will not have access to the internet during your presentation, so all of it must be on the flash drive.

5th year book reports: Due Tuesday, November 19th

4th year book reports: Due Wednesday, November 20th

Book Log Bingo Sheets (Your Usual Reading Homework)

You do not have to complete your Reading Log Bingo sheets again until after Thanksgiving Break! This way, you can spend the time on your book report instead. However, you still must read for 20+ minutes four times a week. Instead of the book log bingo sheets, please turn in a sheet of paper with only your name, the title of the book you read, the author, the pages, and the minutes you read.

Book Report Requirements

You must choose a book that you have read since the beginning of the school year that was at your reading level.

Your book report will consist of a visual display and an oral report (a presentation). Your presentation must be under 5 minutes long. You may use notecards for your presentation! (In fact, they are encouraged!)

Your presentation must include…

-  A plot summary (Don’t give away the ending!)

-  Descriptions of the main characters

-  A description of the setting (Use juicy words and figurative language!)

-  Central problem of the book

-  Why you think your classmates should read the book

Ideas for visual displays and presentations are on the next page.

Evaluation

You will be evaluated on the following:

-  Accurately including each of the required items from the list above

-  Under 5 minutes long

-  Presentation skills: projection, diction, inflection, and gesture

-  Visual display neatness and effort

-  Creativity!
