C. Cannonsaid presenter proposals are due to her by November 10. Workshops will be held on the third floor of the E Building.; vendor tables will be located on the second floor. Academic Senate will sponsor the lunch. Two campus clubs will set up booths and sell soft drinks and water, or serve as helpers as needed.

G.Lamourelle reported we can purchase tote bags in lots of 50; if we purchase 250, cost will be $2.53 ea., or 100 bags @ $2.72 ea. We will need $700 for tote bags unless we get them donated. C. Childress is working with Adobe and ComputerLand, as well as others, for SCC Technology Day participation/donations.

Classroom Mediation in Buildings. C. Cannon reported all new buildings will be technology mediated, but she did not know the plan for mediating older buildings.

Discussion. Mobile technology carts are difficult to move around and classroom assignments can be difficult to make when instructors want to utilize technology in their classes. We will check to see if renovation of older buildings, including equipment, was listed as an item on Measure E. EDPs should list needs even if they are not funded right away as that is the process for the college. C. Childress reported some classrooms in the D Building are scheduled to be mediated once funding becomes available.

C. Childress reported CCCSAT is now operational. The next step will be to get live feed into classrooms. He did not know what that would involve at this point but would continue to work toward getting live feed to classrooms a reality.

Distance Education Task Force and Planning. C. Cannon will gather the results of work the Technology Committee has completed. The Academic Senate will establish the Task Force from those who have indicated an interest (from Technology Committee members interested or others). A strategic plan and job description will be developed prior to flying the position. The person will most likely be hired for the following year.

Vcasting. J. Yorba will contact J. Marcus regarding the possible submission of a HP Technology for Teaching Grant. He would like to do some innovative project involving video iPods. DSPS would be contacted to help with any accessibility issues.

Meeting adjourned at 4p.m. Next meeting will be November 15, 2005, SCC, E-304, 2:35 p.m.
