SUB-COMMITTEE HIGHLIGHT REPORT PRO-FORMA
Report for Trust Board Meeting on: / 29 July 2014Report From: / Mortality Performance Committee
Meeting on 1 July 2014
Highlight Report:
MPC asks the Board to note the following issues:
- The need for continued progress on improvements to a consistent approach to diagnosis on admission (linked to accurate coding) and to patient discharge planning, in medicine in particular, and with the full engagement from the Trust’s clinicians
- The committee’s decision to support the trust-wide introduction of the sepsis pathway now for existing in-patients in addition to new patients, as soon as nurse educator appointments are made
- Risks
- the GI bleed rota remains a risk but positive progress is being made to address the issue
- continued work by the Trust with partners to address the Carotid Doppler risk
- The committee received a report about early steps on a multi-disciplinary multi agency approach to the management of diabetes across the health community. MPC had agreed that Bryony Simpson should be asked to lead for the Trust.
MPC reviewed the Keogh Action Plan actions as assigned to the committee and agreed that all of the assigned actions are on track and that positive assurance could be provided to the Board.
Action Required by the Trust Board:
The Trust Board is asked to note the report.
