LEC Student Application Process Timeline 2015-2016
Parents/Guardians and Prospective LEC Students,
Thank you for your interest in Lee Early College. Lee Early College is a choice Lee County high school and is located on the Central Carolina Community College campus. Lee Early College offers motivated high school students:
- A smaller learning environment
- Five year plans toearn a high school diploma and an Associate’s Degree
- Acceleration and honors level high school coursework
- Personalization
- College Ready Preparation
In order to accept our new students for the 2016-17 school year, the application process will be as follows:
Beginning November 3, 2015 – Middle School informational presentations begin
November 24, 2015– Applications available to students from Middle School Counselors and online at leeearlycollege.com.
December 9, 2015 – Parent and student information session at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center, 6p.m.
January 8, 2016 – Completed applications due to Middle School Counselors
February 11, 2016 – Student and parentinterviews at Lee Early College 6:00-8:30 pm (Central Carolina Community College campus, 1105 Kelly Dr., Sanford, NC.)
February 29, 2016 –Tentative notification for students accepted to LEC
March 8, 2016 – Final Student Acceptance information due from Middle School Counselors to Lee Early College
Onceyou receive an application it is important that youread the entire packet carefully. If you do not understand all areas, please contact Ms. Jackson at LEC or your Middle School Counselor with any questions.
As part of the application process your current middle school will share the following information with Lee Early College. It will be submitted with your application to LEC.

LEC participates in a lottery system, meaning that if you meet the requirements and complete the interview, accepted names will be placed in the lottery. Please remember that the eighth grade year provides the only opportunity to apply for admission to Lee Early College. Students may only enter LEC as an incoming freshman. We can not consider upper classmen for enrollment or transfer.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: By submitting the application, I understand the commitments of effort and time my student is undertaking, and if accepted into Lee Early College High School the academics expectations will be honors level work for all courses. By signing below, I acknowledge that all information is accurate and complete (including the attachment of any active IEP’s) as stated within this application. I understand that the school operates on a college campus; as such, students are expected to be responsible members of the community. I understand that once students are enrolled at Lee Early College High School, LEC becomes there assigned school. If a parent would like their child to be reassigned to another high school in the district, the school districts transfer procedures will be followed (Policy 4150 School Assignment, Reassignment and Transfer.) I understand by attending LEC, I will not be eligible to participate in extracurricular activities on the attendance zone campuses; i.e. Football, Band, etc. I understand that by attending LEC I am willing to participate in the AVID support program. Additionally, I authorize the release of discipline, attendance, testing, exceptional education, and scholastic records to Lee Early College for consideration in the application process.
