FallCollege Expo

SUNY Old Westbury Physical Education Complex on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 12:00—3:00 p.m. This is a terrific opportunity to meet many college representatives and to collect applications and information about the colleges that interest your child.

Early Decision/Early Action

Seniors planning to apply to college under one of these early admission plans should begin their preparation now. Most colleges have an earlier deadline in the fall (usually by November 1st). If your child has a strong preference for a single college that he or she would agree to attend if accepted early, he or she should confer with his or her counselor in September.

Mini-College Days

College representatives will be coming to Herricks. They will be available to talk with students at specific times. The names of the colleges represented and the schedule will be posted in the halls each week and will be available on the Herricks website. Weekly announcements will also be made. Please encourage your child to take advantage of these wonderful opportunities to learn more about prospective colleges.

IndividualCollege Representative Visits

Some college representatives visit Herricks on dates that are not mini-college dates. Your child is encouraged to attend these sessions, but must get prior approval from his or her teacher if the meeting is scheduled during an assigned class. Attendance will be taken and your child’s teacher will be notified that he or she participated. These meetings may be an opportunity for your child to introduce himself or herself to the admissions representative who may be reading his or her actual application! Encourage your child to participate.

Social Security Numbers

Students will need their numbers for college applications or for work. Apply now and save time.

We hope you are having a terrific and energizing summer!
