7th & 8th Grade Math Interactive Journals

This TEKS based Math interactive journalis designed to incorporate all of the major topics throughout the course. Practice cards, puzzles and notes are all included in this one-of-a-kind journal, and they can be incorporated into your existing math curriculum. This one day session will cover all materials needed for Reporting Categories 1 & 2 as well as 3 & 4.
Accessing Math Curriculum Together (General Ed & Special Ed)

Teachers will learnthe "how" of instructing ALL students successfully whileutilizing word walls, visual supports, task analysis of big ideas and relationships to maximize transfer and generalization of mathematics skills. This is a hands-on training targeting vertically aligned Mathematics TEKS. Teachers will learn how to use manipulatives to demonstrate math concepts concretely. The “how” of specially designed instruction paralleled with differentiated instruction will show general and special education teachers the benefit of working in collaborative teams to reduce planning time and increase student engagement. Gaining new skills as collaborative problem solvers, teachers will build understanding by aligning manipulatives, word walls, visual supports andsupplemental aidsover grade levels. General and special education teachers who support one anotherwouldbenefit greatly by attending this training as a team.

This workshop provides the opportunity for staff to complete their required 30-hour gifted and talented training. Registration is handled by contacting Leslie Faught at Central Office. There is a $50/day stipend that is awarded after successfully completing the course.
English as a Second Language
