Team Jingle Belles!

Just 4 days to go until 19 members of our amazing staff take on the 5k Glow Run, onTuesday 19th December, in aid of The Children’s Hospital Charity. This Christmas, the Children’s Hospital Charity are fundraising for a very special SPECT CT scanner which costs £800,000!

The team have been overwhelmed at the generosity of their families, the parents, carers and parishioners of Sacred Heart community.

To date, the team have raised a fantastic £2357.63!

The person, family or team who raise the most for the Glow Run will have a snowflake lit up on the side of the hospital complete with their name on the tag. Can you now help Sacred Heart School get that snowflake on the side of the Children’s Hospital?

We are currently FIRST on the leader board and we want to stay there but, in order to keep ahead of our closest rival, it is vital we keep a good distance between our total and their total! Can you help us maintain that distance as they are fast catching us up?

There are just FOUR days to go!

Please help our team raise vital funds for this special piece of equipment by visiting our page at the link below:

The bucket collectionsat the end of the KS2 Advent Service and after the Advent Showcase raised a total of£273.50, for which the team again express their thanks.

THE CUT OFF TIME FOR ALL DONATIONS IS 6PM ON TUESDAY 19TH DECEMBER

NB: CHRISTMAS JUMPERS

In one final effort to boost our funds, it has been decided to bring forward the Christmas Jumper Day to Tuesday 19th December, as this is the actual day on which staff will be doing the run. On this day, we are asking for a £1 donation for each child who chooses to wear a Christmas jumper. Christmas hats would be great too!

HOWEVER……

As Y1 and Y2 children have their Christmas Party on Tuesday19th December, and will therefore be wearing their party clothes, these children can wear their Christmas jumper on Monday 18th December instead, but please remember that all-important £1 donation.

We want that snowflake!

Please keep collecting those little blue tokens every time you shop at Tesco. Voting is open in Tesco stores throughout the rest of December. Customers will cast their vote using a token given tothem at the check-out in store each time they shop. Please help us earn that £4,000 by getting the most tokens!

KS2 Advent Service

Congratulations to the KS2 children who presented the Christmas story so beautifully on Wednesday night. Such wonderful singing, dancing and acting; fabulous readers who read so clearly and a chorus of children who sang their hearts out. Well done to you all! We hope that everyone was able to appreciate the true meaning of Christmas through the children’s presentation and we thank you all for being there, to support the children. There are more photos on the school website.

FS2/KS1 Nativity

FS2 and KS1 will be presenting their Nativity on Wednesday 20th December at 2pm in church. Everyone is welcome to come and watch the children.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Out of respect for all parents/carers, we would ask that parents/carers please refrain from taking photos or recordings of children during the FS2 and KS1 Nativity. Photo opportunities will, however, be provided at the end.

Some of our parents/carers do not wish to have their child/ren appear in photos or recordings at all, even more so when other parents then upload these to Social Media. In addition, we now have several children in school, who, for legal reasons, must not have their picture on any social media site nor anywhere in a public place.

This event should last no more than an hour therefore we also request parents/carers do not bring drinks and/or snacks into church during either of these events. Please treat the church with respect, as a House of God.

Christmas Dinner

This year, Christmas dinner will be held on Tuesday 19th December. Please inform the school office if your child is NOT having Christmas dinner. On this day, children may also wear a Christmassy hat or head band if they wish.

Christmas Parties

During the last week of term, the children will be having Christmas parties in the school hall, as listed below:

Tuesday 19th December Y1 & Y2

Wednesday 20th DecemberY3 & Y4

Thursday 21stDecemberFS2, Y5 & Y6

On these days, the children may come into school wearing their party clothes for the day. Staff will be arranging party games for the children to play and music for dancing! The children will not need to bring anything into school for their party and they will be having their usual school meal or packed lunch.

Christmas Cards

There is now a small post box at the office into which children may place their Christmas Cards to each other. This will then be emptied on a daily basis. Please ensure the class number is on each card so Santa’s Elves know where to deliver them to each day!
