Staff Changes

We would like to congratulate Mrs Anne McGregor who has been appointed as Depute Head Teacher at Barnhill Primary School, Dundee. Mrs McGregor will take up post on Tuesday 2nd May. Good Luck in your new job Mrs McGregor, you will be missed!

Changes to Assembly Time

As we are supporting Comic Relief on Friday 24th March, we would like to have a special ‘Red Nose Day’ assembly with the children. Therefore, we will have to postpone the P2/3 assembly until term 4. We will let you know of the new P2/3 assembly date as soon as possible.

Golden Time

We are looking for any parent helpers that may be able to help out during P4-7 Golden Time activities on a Friday from 11:15am until 12:30pm. This would not necessarily be every week, it could be on a rota basis. If there are any activities you might be able to help out with or lead such as baking, icing cakes, sports activities, art/crafts etc please do get in touch.

Dalguise 2017

Please note the date for Dalguise has been confirmed as Friday 16th – Monday 19th June.

The next meeting in school is on Wednesday 29th March 2017, where information regarding what children do and do not need to bring to Dalguise will be shared. If you cannot make this meeting, please let a member of staff know so we can get the information to you.

Nursery/P1 Transition

Primary 1 staff have started visited the Nursery to meet with children as part of the transition process. This will continue after the Easter holidays with children beginning to visit P1 classrooms.

Dogs in Playground

For health and safety reasons, can we please remind everyone that council policy is: no dogs, other than Guide Dogs are permitted in school grounds. Thank you for your cooperation.

Gardening Club

Strathmore Primary Gardening Club has been up and running for many years now. This is held each Tuesday from 3:20-4:30pm in the school and is led by Christine Farquhar and Shona Allan, whose own children attended Strathmore in previous years.

Gardening Club is open to all pupils within the school and is completely free. The children who attend love the opportunity to take part in digging and planting activities as well as being treated to juice and biscuits!

If anyone is interesting in joining Gardening Club please let the School Office know.

Can we take this opportunity to thank the ladies who give up their own time each week to provide this experience for our children.
