  3. Principal Report
  4. Mrs. Merlo welcomed Cliff Snitgen, our administrative intern.
  5. Thank you to the PTCG for funding a guest author. The kids enjoyed listening and learning from her. This week concludes March’s reading month.
  6. A Spring break camp is available through Community Education for anyone interested.
  7. MSTEP testing begins April 10th-28th for 5th grade and May 1st-26th for grades 3rd, 4th and 6th.
  8. A few of the teachers and parent Suzi Hatty attended the Cultures of Thinking seminar March 27th. The presenter was the Author of the Cultures of Thinking books. They feel it was a successful and informative seminar.
  9. Treasurer Report
  10. Beginning balance $16,343.57/Allocations $11,187.68/Available balance $3,308.54
  11. Mrs. Ritz is in the process of having changes made to the DeKeyser PTCG bank account. It is important that more than one person is available to sign and write checks that are from within the school. She will be having Sandra Martino’s name removed from the account and Cynthia Copelands name added.
  12. Old Business
  13. Mr. Pierfelice brought all the new recess equipment in to show everyone. This equipment was purchased through the PTCG.
  14. New Business
  15. FUND REQUEST for $200. Money will be used to contribute to the UCS Career Focus luncheon for 6th graders. There will be professionals frommany occupations to talk to the kids and a key note speaker. Motion by Suzi Hatty. 2nd motion by Roni Radulski. All were in favor and the motion was approved.
  16. FUND REQUEST from Kim O’Keefe for $250. This will help pay for the cost of the Preschool moving on ceremony. Motion made by Linda Otto. 2nd motion by Monick LeRoux. All were in favor and the motion was approved.
  17. FUND REQUEST by Sheryl Rincon for $200. These funds will be used for staff appreciation week and the lunch that is provided for them. Motion made by Kayla Cardillo. 2nd motion by Roni Radulski. All were in favor and the motion was approved.
  18. FUND REQUEST for $100. This money will be used to provide popcorn for all students participating in the end of reading month’s movie of Zootopia. Motion made by Kathy Serra. 2nd motion by Suzi Hatty. All were in favor and the motion was approved.
  19. Looking to start a new special project fund for technology to supply the media center with new lap tops.
  20. More information to come on the May flower sale. Volunteers will be needed.
  21. We discussed other fundraising possibilities instead of fun run for next year. As a group, it seemed that the consensus was to keep the fun run as our main fundraiser with a possible new look on the actual event and new incentives to reach a school goal.
  22. Committee Updates
  23. April 12th is the next restaurant night at Panera on Van Dyke in Sterling Heights from 4-7.
  24. Class with the most box tops at the end of the year will earn a slurpee party.
  25. Misc
  26. Linda Otto was the winner of the raffle.
