Job Title:Cleaner

Hours:25 hours per week

Location:Chaucer College Canterbury

Line Manager:Housekeeping Team Leader

Main purpose of job:

Cleaning of the Administration and Accommodation Blocks as advised and under the supervision of the Housekeeping Team Leader.

Key Tasks:

  1. Cleaning the Administration area/Ground Floor and Kitchen rest room area:
  2. Hoover and dust carpets, corridor entrance area, office and classrooms
  3. Empty all bins in the area and clean inside and out
  4. Toilets and floors, plus collecting any rubbish accumulated in these areas
  5. Sanitise all handles and push plates
  6. Bathroom walls and floor
  7. Kitchen sink, draining boards, work tops, table benches and floor, plus rubbish to be collected
  8. Sweep and damp mop flights of stairs
  9. Polish all desks and T.V. screens and computer screens using antistatic wipes
  10. Internal glass doors, inside and out and front doors and window ledges
  11. Restock toilets with toilet tissues, soap, sanitary provisions etc
  1. Cleaning the Accommodation blocks:

a. Hoover and dust carpets, corridor entrance area

b. Empty all bins in the area and clean inside and out

c. Toilets and floors, plus collecting rubbish accumulated in these areas

d. Bathroom, shower walls and floors

e. Shower room walls and floors

f. Kitchen sink, draining boards, work tops, table benches, gas hobs and floor, plus

rubbish to be collected

g. Sweep and damp mop flights of stairs

h. Internal glass doors, inside and out and front doors and window ledges

i. Re-stock toilets with toilet rolls, soap, sanitary provisions etc..

j. Provide clean linen, count linen and send to laundry

k. Clean and make up rooms including bed making

l. Collect rubbish outside rooms and put in commercial waste bins

m. Sweep and pick-up any litter outside on site and put in commercial waster bins

  1. Other Duties:
  2. Collect and send off kitchen laundry as required
  3. Ensure colour cleaning code is observed at all times
  4. To carry out other job related duties as may be reasonably required from time to time
