Model how to extract key fact from text and summarise it as a note. / Practise summarising sentences (orally). / Red: Practise summarising sentences orally before writing. / Use simpler texts. / Create KWL chart about mummification. Use non-fiction books to fill in L column. / Use more complex texts. / Share some of the facts that children have learnt.
