SPRING 2010 CASCADIA GRANTING CYCLE LETTER OF INQUIRY

(PLEASE NOTE: Pride Foundation is changing the application name for the multi-region Seattle-based grants cycle formerly known as the Northwest Cycle to the Cascadia Cycle. We will again simplify our grant review process by first asking only for a one-page Letter of Inquiry describing the project or program to be funded. A Pride Foundation review team will decide which organizations will be invited to complete the full application. Currently this process only affects the Cascadia Granting Cycle and not the regional cycles. Funds available for this cycle remain at $65,000. Please note an earlier than traditional deadline of December 31, 2009.)

Pride Foundation inspires a culture of generosity that connects and strengthens Northwest organizations, leaders, and students who are creating LGBTQ equality. Pride Foundation grants fund a wide range of projects in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington.

In keeping with this mission, Pride Foundation is pleased to announce its Spring 2010 Cascadia Granting Cycle, during which we anticipate granting $65,000. Pride Foundation will strive to balance funds awarded to projects in: arts and recreation; education, advocacy and outreach; health and community services; HIV/AIDS; lesbian health; and youth and family services.

A completed Letter of Inquiry (LOI) must be postmarked no later than Thursday, December 31, 2009 and either mailed to: Pride Foundation, 1122 East Pike Street, PMB 1001, Seattle, WA 98122-3934 or electronically sent to: . The LOI is attached. If you are invited to submit the full application, you will be notified by email on January 9, 2010. The completed full application with copies will need to be postmarked by January 22, 2010. This allows just two weeks, so tentatively schedule time for this. Funds will be available in early April 2010.

PLEASE NOTE: Pride Foundation is transitioning its granting model to allow local community members to make most granting decisions. Separate review processes have been set up for organizations with projects based in Benewah, Bonner, Boundary, Clearwater, Idaho, Kootenai, Latah, Lewis, Nez Pierce, and/or Shoshone County in Idaho; all counties in Montana; Clackamas, Columbia, Morrow, Multnomah, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, Washington, and/or Yamhill County in Oregon; and Adams, Asotin, Benton, Chelan, Clallam, Columbia, Douglas, Ferry, Franklin, Garfield, Grant, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, Kitsap, Kittitas, Klickitat, Lewis, Lincoln, , Mason, Okanagon, Pacific, Pend Oreille, Spokane, Stevens, Thurston, Walla Walla, Whitman, and/or Yakima County in Washington. Organizations with projects in these counties will apply for funding through their local Pride Foundation granting committee, and will no longer apply for funding through Pride Foundation Cascadia funding. Do not use this LOI if your project is based in one of these counties. See the Pride Foundation website for more information: www.pridefoundation.org.

Pride Foundation maintains a commitment to funding:

·  Projects serving communities of color are especially encouraged.

·  In diverse geographic areas in the Cascadia region, both urban and rural.

Organizations can apply for only one grant and one project per cycle.
