SOUTHERN REGION DECA SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

2016-17 Scholarship

Dear Marketing/DECA Education Student:

The Southern Region will present its annual scholarship at the DECA State Leadership Conference to a deserving senior(s) in a marketing education program. The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize an exemplary marketing education student(s), who demonstrates the skills of marketing, merchandising and management.

Each DECA Chapter may submit one application p/50 DECA members. Example: If your chapter has 100 members, your school can submit two applications.

In order to be eligible to receive the scholarship, each applicant must meet and complete the following criteria:

  1. Must be a member of DECA for the 2016-2017 school year
  1. Must be pursuing higher learning (Ex. 2 or 4-year schools, private vocational/trade school)
  1. Must submit a 250-word essay entitled “How DECA and/or Marketing Education has helped me plan for my future”. This essay must be typed and double-spaced.

  1. Two Recommendations: (Cannot be a DECA Advisor - even if the advisor is not the student's teacher. Please ask non-business and technology teachers.)
