Report

Traffic

PC Jackson conducted 3 hours of speed checks on Stocksmoor Road on the 25th between 1700 – 2000hrs. 3 traffic offence reports have been submitted for excess speed.

Patrols

PC France conducted two hours of patrols on the 12th and 13th, between midnight and 0200hrs. Particular attention paid to Coxley View and Ramsey View, no issues.

PC Kurtovic patrolled the area for two hours in the earlyhours of the 14th. All residential areas covered, no issues.

PC Bailey worked between 0200-0400 hrs on the 21st. Netherton Lane patrolled due to recent spate of thefts. One call attended at Caphouse Colliery due to an intruder alarm. Found to be in order on arrival.

PC Kurtovic and France worked on the 21st and 22nd, 4 hours in total. Attention paid to the woods of Thornhill Road due to an increase in nuisance bikes. No bikes discovered, local residents spoken with and reassured.

PS Day attended at a nuisance bike call on the 23rd. Two males were found on the bike, which wasn’t insured. The bike has been seized and the driver spoken to regarding damage to nearby crop. He fully admitted all offences and it is expected that he will receive a caution.

PC France and Kurtovic worked the early hours of the 24th. Thornhill Road patrolled along with other residentialareas, no incidents of note.

Crime

No burglarydwelling offences have been reported in the past month.

Only one other burglary has been recorded, which occurred on the 24th on Coxley View. Offenders have gained entry to a garage and removed some tools from inside.

Three theft from Motor vehicle offences have been recorded.

The first occurred overnight on the 2nd at The Old Woodyard, Stocksmoor Road. Offenders have removed the spare when from the rear of the vehicle and made off.

The second occurred overnight on the 5th – 6th on Oakland Crest, again offenders have removed the spare wheel, this time from underneath a 4x4 vehicle.

The third Occurred on the 18th on Netherton Lane. Offender has smashed the offside window and gained entry to the vehicle, removed sat nav from the glove box and made off.

Three damage offences have been recorded.

Two of the offences were reported from the school on Stocksmoor Road. On the first occasion the students have caused damage to the internal doors and smashed a window. Three students were arrested, 2 of which have been charged and the third received a caution. The second was a report of abusive graffiti that had been written in the hallwayof the school. A female has been charged with this damage and a male has received a youth community resolution.

The third damage offence occurred in the early hours of the 18th again on Stocksmoor Road. Offenders have smashed the offside window of a parked vehicle before making off.

Anti-Social Behaviour

There has been 9ASB related calls in the past month.

6 of the calls relate to nuisance bikes, 5 of which are all linked to the woods of Thornhill Road. None of the riders have been identified by the callers. The NPT are collating all logs and alongside Op Matrix enquiries are continuing to identify those responsible.

The other nuisance bike call came from Netherton lane, the caller had seen two males in his fields causing damage on an off road bike. Caller has approached themand they have ridden off into Coxley Wood. PS Day has attended, stopped and seized the bike.

A suspicious incident call was received on the 11th from Danesleigh Drive. A male has attended at the callers address, purporting to be from the RSPCA. The male was wearing a jacketwith an RSPCA badge however it didn’t look authentic.He also didn’t have any form of identification. Caller made the report due to the number of vulnerable elderly people that live in the area.

Officers attended and conducted an area search but were unable to trace the male.

Only one nuisance youth call has been received from Hall Croft on the 25th. Two youths aged 14-15 were seen on top of the bus shelter and breaking tree branches off, causing a general nuisance.
