Agenda / Who / Discussion/Action
Trans* & Gender Identity Officer Elections / AD / AD sought feedback from the group about how to conduct the Trans* and Gender Identity election, following a number of people coming forward to express interest in the role.
A discussion took place & it was agreed that an email would be sent to the prospective candidates to confirm that they are comfortable with an election to take place with the same rules as other Liberation Officers.
Action: AD to send email.
Election Letter & Review / MG & AD / MG gave an overview of the election process, including a number of faults and mistakes made. A discussion followed about ways to avoid these issues in following elections.
It was agreed that the date of the October election would be pushed back in order to allow for any future technical problems.
Action: Sabbatical Officers to decide a date for the next October election, ensuring the date is later in the academic year.
Restructuring / AH & NC / AH & NC gave an outline of action regarding the School’s Restructuring plans over the past week.
AS asked what more can be done and what the position was with the recently shared petition. A discussion followed about what the Exec felt should be prioritised regarding the working group.
MG proposed a dedicated meeting for Exec on restructuring later in the week.
Action: AH/NC to organise meeting with exec.
Exec members to share petition.
Lecture Recordings / AH / AH updated the group on the recent email sent out to students regarding lecture recordings. 97.1% of 1800 students said they wanted lecture recordings.
Exec unanimously agreed they backed this campaign.
Cultures of Resistance Scholarship / AA / AA gave an overview of the scholarship, and asked exec for fundraising ideas. IN suggested setting up a fundraising committee.
Action: AA to arrange a fundraising committee with the following members: MB, IN, JG, SB, AD, ZA, JJ.
Free Education Demo / AH & NC / AH & NC told exec that an event would be taking place to rally interest for the Demo. It would be held on the 15th November.
Room Bookings / JJ / JJ asked for an explanation to the room booking scenario. AD gave a summary, explaining that there was both a long term and a short term problem.
Action: Progress to be brought back to Exec.
Water Bottle Campaign / AS / AS sought feedback on a possible slogan for the Water bottle campaign; ‘Tap that’. Exec to feed back outside the meeting.
