Job Title: Site Coordinator

Reports To: Executive Director

FSLA Status: Non-exempt

Schedule:35-38hrs/week, 42 weeks per yr;with occasional nights and weekends

Pay Range:$15-$17/hr (DOE)

Position Summary: Responsible for overall planning and coordination of Communities In Schools of Puyallup (CIS of Puyallup) operations at the school site through the implementation of the CIS model of integrated student services. The Site Coordinator will coordinate with community partners and volunteers to marshal resources necessary to address the social, emotional, and academic needs of students who are at risk of dropping out of school and/or not advancing to the next grade level. Through the coordination of individual and group interventions as well as prevention activities, the Site Coordinator is a team player with school staff, volunteers, and parents in helping students succeed in school.

Reports to: Communities In Schools of Puyallup Executive Director and School Principal

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or demonstrated relevant equivalent experience in education, social work or related field. Experience in working with school-age children. Ability to work with people of diverse cultural backgrounds.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Willingness and ability to effectivelycommunicate with youth. Familiarity with local health and human service agencies. Flexibility, resourcefulness, enthusiasm and high energy. Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance. Criminal background check required.

Specific Duties:

  • Perform needs assessment of school where CIS of Puyallup will be delivering services
  • Based on needs assessment, write and implement annual school support plan to meet CIS Total Quality System (TQS) comprehensive site standards, and maintain a written log of specific related site information
  • Coordinate and implement school support plan and provide periodic updates of progress made to the CIS of Puyallup Executive Director
  • Monitor identified site initiatives as outlined in school support plan
  • Document services on CIS data management system
  • Annually identify students for case-managed services (Tier 2 & 3)
  • Provide general support services to students and their families and overall management of CIS site
  • Coordinate referral of students to outside agencies for specific services not provided for on site
  • Gather and analyze student data for individual and programmatic evaluation
  • Plan and participate in educational and enrichment activities
  • Communicate with parents in CIS of Puyallup program to build relationships and develop links to community resources for families
  • Assist in development and implementation of workshops for parents and students i.e. Love and Logic
  • Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers for school site
  • Plan and execute special recognition events when appropriate
  • Train, monitor and celebrate success of volunteer mentors
  • Arrange for CIS of Puyallup staff to meet with teachers, ancillary staff, and parent groups as appropriate
  • Encourage and support the participation of teachers and ancillary staff in needs assessment meetings, service provider meetings and other meetings that may be scheduled throughout the school year.
  • Provide CIS of Puyallup with requested documentation such as monthly site report and quarterly reports to CIS affiliate, school leadership and school site team.
  • Include CIS of Puyallup in the school newsletter when appropriate. Assure CIS of Puyallup logo is used in program communication pieces.
  • Provide appropriate information (directions, classroom climate, etc.) and arrange meeting space for mentors and sponsors
  • Actively participate in annual reviews of the partnership to mutually determine what is going well and what areas need work to improve the effectiveness of the partnership
  • When requested, participate in CIS of Puyallup -initiated evaluation activities of the program
  • Duties as assigned by Executive Director or Program Director
