Singing for Flood Victims of Serbia

Under the patronage of The Serbian and Greek Consul Generals

Recently the devastating floods in Serbia have caused hundreds and thousands of people to lose their homes, many deaths, and whole villages and suburbs have disappeared. Infrastructure destroyed, clean water and food is at dangerously low levels and disease is widespread. That’s just the toll on human suffering, with livestock dying in their thousands and industry at a standstill the country is facing a disaster not seen since the great wars.

In a world where Australians are famous for lending a helping hand to those in need due to natural disasters this is a chance for us to once again take the lead

The Opera and recording stars Soprano Penny Pavlakis, Mezzo Soprano Milijana Nikolic, Tenor Rosario La Spina and Baritone Michael Lewis join their formidable talents in aid of their fellow brothers and sisters in Serbia.

The event is being held at the State of the Art Concourse Theatre in Chatswood and the program is one to savour with Arias, Duets and Trios and quartettes from Tosca, Turandot, Carmen, The Magic Flute, Adrianna Le Couvrere, Rigoletto as well as Italian, Greek and Serbian songs by these truly world class artists. At the piano will Opera Australia’s amazing Frances Greep.

The event is a charity fund raiser and all artists have gratefully donated their performance fees to the cause.
