Tuesdays in Teal – “Take Action” Day

AMHC Sexual Assault Services is partnering with local organizations throughout Aroostook County, to support victims and survivors of sexual violence / assault and abuse by wearing teal every Tuesday throughout the month of April. For more information on how you or your organization can participate please contact Cara Berube 834-3186

Madawaska Middle/High School will be wearing teal to signify the need to end sexual abuse/assault on Tuesday April 12th.

Northern Maine Medical Center staff will lead the charge on April 19th by wearing teal.

And to finish off the month, the University of Maine at Fort Kent students / facility and staff will all be rallying on April 26th by wearing teal.

Make A Difference Awards – Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MeCASA) –Blaine House Augusta, April 5th

MeCASA will be recognizing individuals who have “Made a Difference” through their work/efforts to support / improve the lives of victims and their families who have experience sexual assault/ violence in their lives. AMHC is especially happy to announce that Lydia Christie will be recognized at this event this year for all of the very hard work she has done over the past 4 years in the development of the state wide Advocate Manual used by all MeCASA members. Congratulations Lydia!!

Cup of Prevention – April 19th

AMHC Sexual Assault Services is partnering with NMMC to increase awareness about sexual violence in our community. On Tuesday April 19, patients of NMMC will be invited to share a cup of tea and learn more about preventing sexual violence. For more information please contact Cara Berube 834-3186

St. John Valley - Lunch and Learn – April 13th

Job Corp Informational Booth – April 11th & April 25th

AMHC Sexual Assault Services will be available on the Job Corp campus to provide information about sexual assault prevention to faculty and students on Tuesday April 11th, from 11 AM-2 PM, and on April 25th from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) Informational Booth – April 6th and 20th

Open Mic Night – April 27th

AMHC Sexual Assault Services is partnering with UMFK to increase awareness about sexual violence in our community. On Wednesday April 27, 7:30pm in the Bengal’s Lair, all UMFK faculty and students are invited to participate and learn more about preventing sexual violence. 5K Run – Maliseet Domestic Violence/ Sexual Assault & AMHC Sexual Assault Services – April 30th

The 2nd Annual 5-K Run / Walk is a partnership between AMHC and the Maliseet DV/SA services to raise awareness about the prevalence of sexual assault issues within our community and to engage the community to learn more about how they can be active leaders to prevent sexual assault from occurring in our community – Gather friend, family, co-workers, peers and join us! Registration or check-in is a 9:00 AM – would prefer for those walking or running to register prior to event by contacting Katie Bell @ 532-3000.
