SENSATIONAL BLIND MURDER CASE OF MBA STUDENT

OF IIPM SOLVED : PRIME ACCUSED ARRESTED

With the arrest of prime accused viz. Rahul Chadha age 24 years s/o Dinesh Chadha r/o A-1/18, Patel Nagar-II, Ghaziabad, U.P., the South District Police have solved the sensational murder case of an MBA student of IIPM, which was committed on 25.05.09 in Qutub Institutional Area, Hauz Khas, New Delhi.

INCIDENT

On 26.05.2009, while one Ankur Singh s/o Virender Singh r/o M-107, Greater Kailash-I, New Delhi was strolling in Sanjay Van area, he noticed some stones smudged with blood and a trail of blood towards Nullah near Rockland Hospital, Prithvi Raj Chauhan Fort. He proceeded towards Nullah and found a dead body in the Nullah. He immediately informed Police Control Room.

After receiving the call regarding dead body, the local police from Police Station Hauz Khas reached the spot and found one dead body of a boy aged about 25 -26 years. The deceased was wearing one T-shirt of IIPM, Qutub Institutional Area, New Delhi. The face of the deceased was deformed by crushing it with stones as some blood stained stones were also found nearby. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.189/09 dated 26.05.2009 u/s 302/201 IPC was registered at Police Station Hauz Khas and investigation taken up.

TEAM

Seeing the gravity of the crime, a special police team consisting of Inspector Virender Jain, SIs Rajeev, Chandershekhar, HCs Hukam Singh, Islamuddin, Sanjeev, Constables Dara Singh, Jaiveer and Kaushar Mehndi under the leadership of Inspector Atul Kumar, SHO/Hauz Khas and overall supervision of Shri Mehar Singh, ACP/Hauz Khas was constituted to identify and arrest the accused involved in this murder.

INVESTIGATION & ARREST

During the course of investigation, witnesses were examined and the deceased was identified as Anand Tewari age 26 years s/o Rajender Tewari r/o C-90, Room No.2, Katwaria Sarai, New Delhi. Secret enquiries as well as examination of witnesses revealed the presence of accused Rahul, Arjun and Arun at the scene of crime just before the commission of crime. Sources were deployed in various areas to locate the possible hideouts of the accused persons and raids were conducted at several places to apprehend them. The efforts of the police team bore results and on secret information accused Rahul was arrested on 08.06.2009 from the area of Satbari, Mehrauli, New Delhi.

INTERROGATION

During sustained interrogation, accused Rahul disclosed that Anand Tewari had very ‘intimate’ relations with a female student of the same institution and both were supposed to go to Switzerland on 27.05.2009. As Rahul was also having intimacy with the same girl, he detested her ‘intimacy’ with Anand Tewari. The accused had strong reactions to this and scolded Anand Tewari many a times and warned & threatened him to keep himself away from the proximity of the girl. There had been several hot discussions between the deceased and the accused on this issue. One of the friends of accused Rahul viz. Arjun, who works in the factory owned by father of that girl also disliked the growing relations between Anand Tewari and the girl. Accused Rahul alongwith Arjun and one more friend Arun hatched a conspiracy to eliminate Anand Tewari and as per their plan, Arjun invited Anand Tewari to have a drink in a Pub in Saket. Rahul and Arun were waiting outside the Pub in a car. After taking the drink, Arjun took Anand Tewari to the jungle of Qutub Institutional Area on his motorcycle on the pretext of taking a walk, while Rahul and Arun followed them in a car. In the jungle, Arjun hit Anand Tewari on his head with the help of an iron rod and when Anand Tewari fell down, Rahul and Arun also hit him with stones and iron rod. After taking away the wallet, mobile phone and bag of the deceased, they threw his body in the Nullah and escaped from the spot.

PROFILE

After completing MBA from IIPM in June 2008, accused Rahul joined business of his father. But he kept visiting IIPM frequently to meet his old friends.

Arjun works in the factory owned by father of the girl. He considered the girl as his sister and as such disliked her association with the deceased as he was close friend of Rahul.

Arun has studied up to 10th standard. At present, he is jobless. He is a close friend of Rahul. All the three accused persons are residents of Ghaziabad.

Investigation is in progress and raids are being conducted to arrest both the absconding accused. The members of the police team are being suitably rewarded.

A team of Special Cell, Delhi Police led by Inspector Videsh Singhal under the supervision of Sh. L. N. Rao, ACP, has worked out 6 months old case of murder of PS Gokul puri, New Delhi and have arrested one Vinod Kumar @ Jat r/o Distt. Muzaffar Nagar, UP.

An information was received by Inspector Videsh Singhal that Vinod Kumar wanted by Gokul Puri police station in a case of murder would come near Sarai Kale Khan bus terminal. On this information a trap was laid near the Sarai Kale Khan Bus terminal and Vinod Kumar @ Jat was arrested u/s 41.1 Cr. P. C.

Vinod Kumar @ Jat was subjected sustained interrogation he revealed that he worked as a conductor on RTV while the deceased Pradeep Tyagi was a bus driver. They knew each other and were friends. In the month of December 2008, the Vinod Kumar had fight with the Pradeep Tyagi and his friend Shah Alam. Vinod Kumar was thrashed badly. Since then he nursed grouse against Pradeep Tyagi. On 3.12.2008, Vinod Kumar had the drink in the bus that was driven by the Pradeep. After having their drinks they went to a room of their common friend Mintoo, where they again had drink and dinner. After dinner Vinod and Pradeep left the room of Mintoo and proceeded to the bus for a sleep. On their way Pradeep started teasing the Vinod about their last quarrel and his thrashing. When, they reached near the Govt. School Gokalpur, the Vinod hit a brick on the head of Pradeep who later fainted. The Vinod dragged his body in a nearby sever and he heaped the body with garbage on body and put it on fire so that it could not be identified, and then escaped from the spot.
