Sea Cadet Corps – T.S Stork (2009 – 2016)

I have been a member of the local Sea Cadet Corps from the age of 12. I have worked my way through the ranks and achieved the highest rank possible for my age. I was one of the highest ranking cadets within my unit; allowing me to be a part of an effective work force meeting the challenges of leadership and responsibilities required to my position. After turning 18 I became a Civilian Instructor, this staff role consisted of teaching and organizing activities.

T.S Pelican - Tall Ship Crew (April2012)

I went on a week’s voyage on a 120 foot Tall Ship ‘Pelican.’ I was an active participant in ‘watches’ of 4 hours,; these consisted of staff duties such as navigation, helming, sail setting and other daily tasks. When not on a watch time on board was spent doing other various tasks such as cooking, cleaning and sleeping. The voyage took us from Southampton – Isle of Man – Liverpool.

National Citizen Service (NCS - October -November2014)

I took part in the National Citizenships Service for four weeks during winter 2014. NCS is a voluntary government backed programmedesigned foryoungpeopletodevelopskillsforworkandlife.Iplayed akeyrolein ateamprojectcalled“SocialAction”whichmade adifferenceinmylocalcommunity.Duringthisprogrammeworkshopswereundertaken,thesewere:AlcoholandDrugAwareness,PositiveRelationships andFirstAid.Ithenunderwent aweekresidentialdevelopingteamworkandleadershipskills.

Duke of Edinburgh - Gold (September2015)

The duke of Edinburgh’s gold award took me on a 5 day camping exhibition as well as a 5 dayresidential. I also undertook 6 months of volunteering; teaching cadets at my sea cadet unit how tosail.
