ISO Standards Address Recycling in Ship Materials and Plastics Industries (July 14, 2008)

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has recently developed guidelines relating to the recycling of two products that are abundant in today’s international marketplace. The first, developed for plastics, will likely affect more individual products over wide range of industries; the second, relating to ship materials, deals with fewer products, but those of enormous size and weight.

Import Safety Summit Focuses Discussions on Public-Private Partnership for Consumer Safety (July 8, 2008)
ANSI, working in conjunction with eleven other leading associations and representatives of the President’s Interagency Working Group on Import Safety, highlighted the need for a public-private partnership on import safety through the July 9 Import Safety Summit. The one-day event, held in Washington, DC, drew nearly 450 interested stakeholders, including industry and government leaders.

ANSI iPackages: New Website Helps Organizations to Share, Annotate, and Personalize ISO 14000 Environmental Standards (July 8, 2008)
ANSI announced last week the launch of ANSI iPackages, an online tool that allows organizations to share, annotate, and personalize standards for internal use. The website was launched with six collections from the ISO 14000 series of environmental management system (EMS) standards.
