Sales Representative and PSSR
Location: Houston, BC, Canada
Position reports to Part Manager, Prince George and Area to support CFU new and used equipment sales and product support sales activities through specialized technical or scientific knowledge / product applications. Incumbent is an internally recognized expert in the product line which involves all aspects of SMS Equipment’s customer product offerings. Incumbent will establish and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers and manufacturers, solving technical problems and generating customer solutions as a value added supplier.
1. Manages sales of new CFU equipment.
· Collaborates with the Operations Managers along with the Regional Sales Manager, BC to set quotas, implement sales action plans, and monitor economic trends and new product development.
· Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts, budgets and prospect reports.
· Prepares sales presentations, contracts and proposals (i.e. proactive equipment replacement proposals).
2. Establishes and builds strong customer relationships that allow for new, continual and ongoing representation reinforced by sales programs and communications to other relevant company functions/ divisions.
· Initiates direct sales activities with existing customers and new prospects within assigned territories and manufacturers.
· Acts as customer representative for SMS and as focal point for communication between customer and SMS.
· Becomes knowledgeable and involved in all aspects of customer relationships with SMS, including services, sales, pricing and goodwill.
· Assists customer in implementing equipment changes for improvement and reduced operating costs.
· Assists in getting new customers set up with KomTrax and VHMS.
· Sells parts to equipment owners, contractors and fleet operators.
· Provides service and solutions regarding OE parts issues.
· Solves technical problems and generates customer solutions as a value added supplier.
· Ensures feedback of customer problems to SMS so that solutions to recurrent problems can be developed.
· Develop regular call schedules and close relationships with customer staff at all levels in their companies.
· Prepares informative written call reports.
3. Meets personal sales targets as established.
· Focuses on accounts which are stable in nature within identified markets or geography.
· Utilizes Company technical, sales and promotional resources to generate leads and achieve sales goals.
· Seeks out and develops new and used sales and profitable service work.
4. Special projects as assigned.
· Participates in major promotions, new product launches, and new marketing initiatives.
· Involvement with professional associations and affiliations to build customer networks and relationships (i.e. ARHCA, TLA, etc).
5. Liaises with Shop operations and office personnel to ensure efficient and profitable operation of area of responsibility.
· Coordinates all service, warranty, billing, and equipment issues to the appropriate SMS manager. Main point of contact in resolving such issues.
Qualifications:
· The position requires a university graduate with a passion to sell and for large construction, forestry and utility equipment.
· Proficient computer skills (Microsoft, Outlook, Excel, Power point, Word) and CRM systems.
· Position requires the ability to drive company vehicles for extended periods of time.
· Must be self-motivated and proactive in keeping abreast of cutting edge technology and best practice pertaining to the Company’s products and services; enhancing expertise, performance and bottom line productivity.
· Excellent communication skills in dealing with customers and O.E.M.s.
· Position is on 24/7 responsibility to respond to customer requests as required.
