Minutes:
Treasurer’s Report: still the same, nothing new from last meeting
Community Service update: volleyball: Bowl for Kids, 6 volleyball players raised money for Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and got to bowl 10 frames free, Women’s Soccer and Basketball: hunger for homelessness, April 4th
Pre-registration: April 6th. There are also two weeks after pre-registration if you miss it.
Senior Reception: May 5th 4 pm - social to take place right before the Athletic banquet. This is for the senior student-athletes, invited faculty/staff and coaching staff. Have seniors invite faculty. In Murdock 218. SAAC agreed to assist with a financial contribution if needed.
Ideas for a small gift for the seniors: cords for graduation, or a pin to wear on the gowns - look for future socials since we need more lead time.
Women’s Soccer Alumni Game: 4/18- hold a mini-tag sale of soccer items? Those to help out: Jihan, Kristen, Jade (set-up), Sell men’s soccer t-shirts as well - John McCarthy
Jade’s Youth Project: submitted proposal- dinner for at-risk kids from the YMCA. Last Sunday in April (26) or first Sunday in May (3): 4:30 to 5, Spaghetti dinner for about 50 or 60, and have all of SAAC and other athletes, with 2 or 3 athletes at each table to sit and talk with the kids and maybe create a pen-pal style of contact with the kids
SAAC Presidential Award: we are holding off on voting until the next meeting
By-laws update: SGA- sent to Deb to read over, and is waiting for a response
Announcements:
Banquet May 5th 5:30 pm start: Laura present award to favorite Fan (faculty or staff), Amey present the Blazing Trails Project to top team.
CC Gym: needs to be locked, and made for MCLA students only - Dot will speak to directors and supervisors to ask for advice.
Webinar: April 22nd from 1-2 in room 324A, to watch a video about "Step Up" to help as a bystander.
Olympiad - Ready Day May 6th: putting the word out through the Beacon, message on Facebook, and table at lunch and dinner, Have postcards to be dropped off in a box in the Mail Room, as RSVPs
E-board Election results for 09-10: President: Laura Silverman, Vice-President: Jade Prickett, Secretary: Chelsey Burke, Treasurer: Pat Ryan, President-Elect: wait for a later time to elect this position
Fan Day: April 25 - Bean bag toss, dress like a trailblazer, frozen t-shirts, Fan Van drivers: Kristen Banks?Charging for food- have food from 12-3, Cookers: 5 people needed: Gabby, Jen, Standing for donations: Laura Silverman, Raffle: Pat Ryan at baseball, John McCarthy and Chelsey Burke at softball, Chelsey and John going around town to get donations
Prizes: donations, signed baseballs and softballs, iPods, gift baskets (movie theme, MCLA theme, beach theme) - donated by CHOICES.
Next Meeting: Patriot’s Day, April 20th at 8:30 PM in Sullivan Lounge
