Equipment Check-Out Agreement
Part of producing publications involves the use of yearbook equipment, including digital cameras, scanners, computers, jump drives, and memory cards.
It is the student’s responsibility to care for any equipment in his/her possession and he/she is responsible for any damage that occurs.
The student is responsible for any damage to or loss of digital cameras and/or journalism equipment. The minimum cost to repair a digital camera is $125. The cameras cost roughly $200-$800 to replace. The student must understand that if equipment is damaged or lost, it is his/her obligation to pay for repairs or replacement. The cost of a lens varies depending on the lens.
The rechargeable batteries are intended for the digital cameras and ONLY the digital cameras.
All equipment is returned to the closet immediately after check-in.
Department equipment left lying around the room openly may result in the loss of check-out privileges, temporarily or permanently. This will, of course, directly affect your grade.
The student may use his or her own equipment at any time rather than borrowing the journalism department equipment.
