S.Marion O’Connor, OPLegacy Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was established in the spring of 2014 to honor S. Marion O’Connor, OP,and her legacy of over 50 years of outstanding commitment and faithful service to Regina Dominican as teacher, mentor, and colleague. Throughout this time she profoundly touched the lives of her students, encouraging them through myriad experiences to understand how history has shaped our society and legal system today.

S. Marion O’Connor’s dedication to quality, meaningful education has contributed greatly to Regina Dominican's vibrant environment, and her ability to invite students to go beyond their textbooks and into the real world has deeply enriched their education and positively influenced their personal and professional lives.

S. Marion is an exemplary model for the students of Regina Dominican as they strive for excellence, live a faith-filled life, provide leadership, encourage innovation, and build community.

This $1,000 scholarship isawarded annually to a Regina Dominican student for her junior or senior year. The applicant must have a minimum C+ academic average and financial need. Preference is given to students whose parents have submitted a PSAS application requesting financial assistance for the 2017-2018 school year.

Application requirements are:

1.Complete the attached application. It must be typed. Email the application to Mrs. Kathleen Maher ’80 () by Friday, February 3, 2017.

2.Obtain a letter of recommendation from one Regina Dominican faculty member. Pleaseprovide the attached instructions (p.2) to your Recommender. Recommendation requests to faculty must be made by
Friday, January 20, 2017.
