Narrowboat Holidays just like TV’s Prunella Scales & Timothy West

Last night’s new More4 TV programme Great Canal Journeys, featuring national treasures Prunella Scales and Timothy West, was filmed on the Kennet & Avon canal.

The first of four weekly parts, the series is a heart-warming insight into two lasting love affairs: Pru and Tim have been together since 1963 and their enduring passion for Britain’s canals is well-known.

For those who would like to chug quietly along in the couple’s wake, specialist boating agency Waterways Holidays can organise identicalGreat Canal Journeys including:

Kennet & Avon Canal – Pru and Tim were filmed cruising on ‘Bradbury’, a 67-foot Bond class narrowboat based at Sydney Wharf in Bath. These include two superb bathrooms, a well-equipped galley with filtered drinking water and gadgets including iPod dock as well as TV/DVD. ‘Worcester’ sleeps up to five and a week’s rental this spring costs from £1,220.
