Criteria For Evaluation/Approval 2017-18

Three Absolutes That Must Be In Place Before Grant Application Can Be Submitted:

1. Current Memorandum of Understanding must be in place10

2. Club Rotarian, preferably Club President and/or President-elect, certified to process grants via attendance at annual PETS Grants Seminar or other Grants Seminar if offered 10

3. All previously awarded grants properly closed out with submission of all requisite reports prior to all deadlines 10

4. The club is limited to a total of three(3) grant applications per year. 10

Criteria for Grant Evaluation listed in descending order of importance with number one most important, but each criteria relevant in the review and approval process

1. Grant Budget—What is the club’s contribution in dollars for the project and what percent of the total budget is the club’s contribution to the total project? 8

2. The Rotary Foundation--Does this club contribute to The Rotary Foundation? How much per capita is that contribution? 10

3. Areas of Focus--Does the club project fall into one of Rotary International’s six areas of focus? 10

4. Public Relations--What is the public relations potential for this project? How will the project’s public relations be generated--newspaper, radio/television, District website, club website, Face Book, Twitter, etc.? The results should be a part of the closeout report. 6

5. Partnership--Does this project involve other clubs and/or NPOs/NGOs?5

6. Sustainability of Project--Is this project sustainable on its own and can it be carried forward in future years? Is this project a one year project or a multi-year project? 6

7. Community Needs--How or why does this project solve a particular issue within the community that the club serves? 8

8. Project Impact—What is the impact of this project? How many individuals will receive benefit from this project? How many Rotarians will participate in the completion of this project? 7

9. Project Difficulty--What is the project’s rate of success and its ability to achieve its goals? 5

10. Club’s District Level Participation--Does this Club participate in District/Zone/International level meetings to advance its individual members Rotary knowledge? 5
