Role: Employer Responsive Assessor – Early Years and Education

Salary: £22,899 - £24,441 per annum, pro rata where applicable

Accountable to:Sector Lead

To provide high quality vocational training, assessment and support to learners on Nottingham College Training courses. This includes pre-enrolment, during and post training. This role will cover the Early Years and Education Apprenticeship programmes

Portfolio of responsibilities:

  • To provide appropriate information and advice to learners and employers relating to the vocational subject specialism.
  • To effectively enrol, induct, train, review, assess and track learners on programme using the appropriate paperwork or IT package.
  • To plan, prepare and deliver vocational underpinning knowledge and assessment as required.
  • Motivate and inspire students to exceed their expectations and goals. Ensure learners produce the highest level of work and are empowered to take ownership of their studies to achieve excellent results.
  • Maintaining effective data relating to individual learner’s targets, progression, assessment activities and achievement, from evidence generated through training and assessment activity in College or from their place of work.
  • Provide learners with access to comprehensive, efficient and cost-effective assessment opportunities.
  • To contribute to Course Review in support of the Sector Lead.
  • To provide appropriate support to standardisation and quality assurance of the courses for which they have responsibility.
  • To support the Sector Lead with the registration and certification of learners.
  • To contribute to Case Studies and other marketing media such as course information sheets, awards nominations, web site information.
  • To support the College at marketing events designed to promote Nottingham College Training and Employer Training.
  • To develop learning materials in support of the training provision.
  • Negotiate and achieve targets for retention and achievement of students and identify opportunities for functional skills evidence to be generated from main programme or workplace activity.
  • To ensure compliance with legislative requirements relating to the subject areas including SASE Frameworks and new standards and Health, Safety and Welfare.
  • To review and evaluate programmes within area of responsibility, with a view to continuous improvement.
  • To liaise with employers where appropriate.
  • To produce a schedule of work in support of the Sector Lead and College Management Team.
  • To maintain a caseload of learners in line with targets agreed by Operations Sector Lead.
  • To promote repeat business and to feedback any enquiries to the Marketing Team.
  • To conduct invigilation of tests as appropriate to the role.
  • To undertake other vocational activity related to the role.
  • Work with you line manager to identify training needs and actively seek out relevant training and developmental opportunities in liaison with the training manager and undertake continual professional development as and when required.

Qualifications:
1 / Professionally qualified to level 3 in Early Years Education and/or Supporting Teaching and Learning / E / X
2 / Assessors award A1 or equivalent / E / X
3 / Internal Quality Assurers award V1 or equivalent / D / X
4 / Hold a minimum level 2 qualification in English and Maths / E / X
Experience and Skills:
5 / Relevant industrial experience in Early Years & Education / E / X / X
6 / Understanding and experience of the delivery and assessment of Early Years and STL apprenticeship programmes / D / X / X / X
7 / Understanding of monitoring of learners through action planning and constructive feedback. / E / X / X / X
8 / Experience with the use of ILT for delivering and monitoring of learners. / E / X / X
9 / Have experience of successful team working and be committed to a team based approach. / E / X / X
10 / Experience of Health and Safety commitments for learners in line with College policies. / E / X / X
