RN REPRESENTATIVE SPORTS TRAVEL AT PUBLIC EXPENSE FOR PERIOD 01 APR 17– 30 SEP17
1.Authority to Travel at Public Expense for RN Representative fixtures will no longer be authorised through the on-line sports fixtures calendar (NavyFit portal) and will revert to this letter format for the forseeable future. The on-line sports fixture calendar does however remain the vehicle for detailing ALL sports fixtures and sports associations should continue to promulgate their fixtures through this medium.
2.Addressees are to submit their list of intended Royal Navy Representative fixtures at senior, junior and masters level, for the period 01 Apr 17 – 30 Sep 17, on the attached proforma, to reach HMS TEMERAIRE Sportadmin, Ms Rebecca Mahmud, (email: ) by Tue 21 Mar 17. This will enable the necessary authority to be issued before 01 April 17. Personnel are reminded to use the proforma format for their returns as fixture lists will be returned should they not comply.
3.The regulations governing Sports Travel are found in BRd51 Chapter 4 and JSP 752. Specific details relating to sport are contained in JSP 752, Part 2, Chapter 4, Section 2; and regulations for entitlement to Subsistence Allowance are at Chapter 3, Section 1 – Subsistence Section 1 Annex A for Winter Sports & Canoeing Safety Officials. JPA claimsfor RN Representative sport travel should be iaw with Temeraire letter – Change of Policy 16 Jan 17 issued and dated 1 Feb 17.
4.UKAF. Applications for authority to travel to UKAF Representative matches and meetings should be made by the individual UKAF Sports Associations to the Secretary of the UKAF Sports Board Col GB Grossmith () .
5.In the event of the cancellation of any authorised fixture or Committee meeting, prior permission must be obtained from SO1NS before travel to an alternative event or venue may be undertaken.
6.It is appreciated that some dates and venues may not be known in advance and it is permissible for `TBC’ or similar notation to be used. However, when details of fixture are known these are to be forwarded to SO1NS before travel to the event is undertaken.
