(Mons Day Parade and The Great Send Off)
(Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2014
Notice is hereby given that Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council intends to make an Order in accordance with the provisions of Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect will be to prohibit and restrict vehicular traffic on roads in the City of Chester to enable the Mons Day Parade and The Great Send Off to take place on Sunday 7 September 2014.
The following lengths of road will be closed at 9.00am for a maximum duration of 5 hours:
Bridge Street – Grosvenor Street to Watergate Street
Watergate Street – Bridge Street to Nicholas Street/St Martin’s Way
Northgate Street – Princess Street to Eastgate Street
St Werburgh Street – Northgate Street to Eastgate Street
Eastgate Street – Northgate Street to The Eastgate
Foregate Street – The Eastgate to St John Street
St John Street – Foregate Street to Little St John Street
During this period the following roads will be closed by the Police for approximately 20 minutes while the Parades process to and from Chester Cathedral:
Grosvenor Road – to southbound traffic from the Grosvenor Roundabout to Castle Drive
Grosvenor Roundabout (except the left turn from Grosvenor Road to Nicholas Street)
Grosvenor Street – Grosvenor Roundabout to Bridge Street
City Road – Queen’s Road to The Bars Gyratory
The Bars Gyratory
Foregate Street – The Bars Gyratory to Frodsham Street
The following length of road will be closed at 10.00am for a maximum duration of 3 hours:
City Road – Station Road to Queen’s Road
Waiting will also be prohibited on the following lengths of road from 5.00am for a maximum duration of 9 hours:
Bridge Street – Grosvenor Street to Watergate Street
St Werburgh Street – Northgate Street to Eastgate Street
City Road – Station Road to Queen’s Road
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE FOR TRAFFIC
Traffic diverted from City Road should proceed via St Oswald’s Way, Hoole Way, Brook Street and Station Road.
