REALTOR® of the Year Award – Call for entries
Michigan Realtors® annual REALTOR® of the Year award is the highest honor bestowed upon a Michigan REALTOR®. It stands for integrity, individual achievement and perhaps the greatest compliment: recognition from peers in the real estate industry.
President Carol Griffithhopes every local association submits a nomination this year. Awards will be presented at the 2014 Convention & Expo, held October 1-3 at Amway Grand Plaza Hotel and Devos Place.
The recipient is selected from individuals nominated by a local association/board who:
•Advocate and expand the interest of fellow REALTORS®, their profession, and the real estate community at large;
•Demonstrate the outstanding work by REALTORS® to the general public;
•Fit a leadership position among peers and foster a spirit of camaraderie between locals, the state and national REALTORS®.

Eligibility
1.Each Local Association may submit only ONE nomination. Nomination forms, along with a high quality professional photo, must be submitted electronically to . Please put REALTOR® of The Year Nomineeinsubject line.
2.Nominees must have REALTOR® status for the current calendar year for which they are nominated.
3.Only nominations received by August 22, 2014shall be considered eligible nominees for the year.
4.All nominees will be honored at the 2014 Convention & Expo. A letter notifying the recipient will be
mailed prior to the Convention & Expo.
5.The committee shall first consider a nominee’s activities during the current year. In the event that several nominees seem equally qualified in most reasonable respects, prior year’s efforts, affiliations and rewards shall be considered so as to further narrow the field.
6.Members serving as current Michigan Realtors® officers are not eligible.
This year’s winner will be determined by the following three categories:
Achievements and Contributions
- To the REALTOR® Organization (30%) (May include activities such as: association activities at the local/state/national level; committee work, business meetings, education events, membership and offices held in any chapter of Institutes, Societies, and Councils, advocacy and issues; attendance at state/national conventions; spirit and faithfulness to principals of organized real estate, as well as the laws and regulations of this board and NAR’s Code of Ethics):
- To the Real Estate Profession (30%) (May include activities such as: overall business achievements-both real estate related and otherwise, designations held, public recognition of business conduct, service to clients, imaginative and creative advertising program, rehabilitation work, land utilization, etc., efforts to encourage good real estate practice among other real estate brokers):
- To the Community (40%)(May include activities connected with work in local chambers, youth or religious groups, etc; cultural contributions to the community; civic clubs, membership and offices held; public welfare campaigns; political offices held (national, state, local) with or without pay; time spent with the press and general public explaining the real estate profession):
