  • Facilitate focus groups and meetings with up to 20 individuals to explore how to:
  1. Build bridges between different ages and ethnic groups.
  2. Improve representation of the local community in the running of community and resident group.
  3. Manage areas of conflict positively for the benefit of the community through workshops exploring differences and conflict resolution.
  • Following on from the above, facilitate setting up of a steering group to look at taking the ideas forward.
  • Design and present 3 workshops between January 2010 and March 2010 with up to 16 participants to explore pre-conceptions people from different generations and backgrounds.

  • Delivery of after school session targeted at, but not exclusively for, refugees, asylum seekers, newly arrived migrants aged 12-18. Session will provide:
  • English and academic support provisions for young people.
  • Sports, activities and personal development activities.
  • A safer place for development of friendship and socialisation skills.
  • Signposting and support for young people to enable access to services such as training, education, housing, benefits and immigration advice.
  • Introduction to new experiences through 4 outings.

South London Tamil Association / £29,529 /
