Please provide a 100 word personal statement in the box below about your contribution to AMEC and an outline of your plans if elected.

As Vice Chair, I am responsible for the execution of our strategy. In the last 2 years, that has focussed on setting our strategic plan and mission – which I established as helping to professionalise the PR and communications industry through the broader adoption of measurement and analysis, and through the establishment of best practice and standards.
I am a big believer in education and have personally run a number of webinars with Gorkana / Booz Allen Hamilton / AMEC promoting effective measurement and analysis. The largest of those attracted 1500 registrations. I have led joint initiatives with industry partners like the PRCA, with whom we produced a media measurement best practice guide promoting the Barcelona Principles and Valid Metrics Framework to our members.
Formerly, I led the Content Licensing Committee, setting up a global database of licensing frameworks, negotiating a licence with the NLA, and lobbied major publishers, including Dow Jones, on better terms for our members. I handed that work over to Dawn Conway.
Gorkana Group has also been a major supporter of AMEC and I have personally pushed the education partnership at the last two summits. That has created some unique content assets which have been extremely helpful in promoting our work. We kicked off Measurement Week with a research based discussion with industry leaders about the future of measurement which firmly set the tone of the conversation for the week and helped to make it the success it was.
If elected, I would commit to furthering our growth through the development of additional strategic partnerships, through the development of a suite of metrics to complement our principles and frameworks, and by finding ways to further the promotion of our work and that of the broader PR industry with the objective of putting measurement firmly at the heart of public relations work at a time when more major brands and global organisations are investing in it. I truly believe that the work we do makes a difference and I am committed to leading that, with your support, and the support of Chris Foster, my chose Vice-Chair. Chris will provide the professionalism, experience and resources required to help take us to the next level.
Finally, as we scale and become a more formidable force in the industry, I am also committed to ensuring that our governance is transparent and reflects the will of the organisation, hence putting myself and Chris forward for this process.
