APPLICATION FOR LANDLORD CONSENT TO LOCALLY-FINANCED AND/OR LOCALLY-MANAGED IMPROVEMENTS OR ALTERATION WORK – COMMUNITY AND VOLUNTARY CONTROLLED SCHOOLS AND ACADEMIES (WHERE APPLICABLE)

The Landlord Consent form is required to ensure that the Local Authority has a strategic overview of building work being carried out at schools and academies where the Local Authority is the Landlord. Approval to this form does not constitute technical approval to a scheme, as it is for individual schools to ensure that all necessary consents are obtained and that the work proposed complies fully with the appropriate regulations and statutory requirements. Please refer to the document ‘Checklist for School Building Projects’ for more information.

This form should be completed and signed by the Headteacher/Principal.

Any changes that might affect a school’s capacity should be specifically noted and also agreed with the school’s Planning and Admissions Adviser prior to the submission of the approval form. Such changes would include the provision of new teaching accommodation and/or the conversion of teaching accommodation to non-teaching or vice-versa.
Please confirm that drawings of the completed works will be submitted to Essex County Council’s approved agent, Lambert Smith Hampton, for record purposes.
